Shadow, a German Shepherd Dog, was born in East Texas on April 17, 2014. Timothy and Mary met with Shadow’s breeder at the Bass Pro Shop near Lake Ray Hubbard in the late summer of 2014 to adopt him. He was the last pup of his litter to leave his mother.
Growing up in an apartment with Timothy and Mary, Shadow enjoyed playing with many of the neighboring dogs, including a Chow Chow he was particularly fond of. Although on the smaller side for a German Shepherd, Shadow maintained a healthy weight of around 68 lbs.
Shadow has always been an energetic yet gentle dog. His intelligence is evident in his ability to learn new tricks with minimal guidance. As a puppy, Timothy affectionately nicknamed him “Lanky” due to Shadow’s struggles to control his large paws on the tile floor of their apartment. The nickname was short lived as Shadow grew to become exceptionally agile.
In the fall of 2017, as Timothy and Mary anticipated the arrival of their first child, they purchased a house with a yard for Shadow to enjoy. This marked Shadow’s transition from an indoor dog to an outdoor dog. Despite the change, he retained his indoor training and manners.
Shadow’s excellent health and outstanding characteristics exemplify the German Shepherd breed. In early 2023, he was allowed to breed for the first time with a female German Shepherd named Sonni Sturm. Their union resulted in a litter of 13 healthy puppies, further showcasing Shadow’s remarkable traits.
